Bearded Man Wearing Derby
Artist: Keith Pedersen
Coin: 1936-P (VF)

Donation to OHNS

First Examiner: Fivaz
The nose, eye, and mouth were altered. The subject has a very large ear and a punched beard outlines below the nose and cheek. His hat has a slightly curved hat brim with a vertically lined hatband. The field was nicely dressed (LIBERTY remains) and the coin was 揳ntiqued after being carved. It was signed 揔P on the reverse under the bison抯 head.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a nice modern rendition of the standard design classic hobo nickel. Notable features are the large raised-metal ear, and the raised-metal nostril. The profile was altered. The subject has a simple collar, a smallish hat high on his head.

Bald Man
Artist: Keith Pedersen
Coin: 1920-P (F)

First Examiner: Fivaz
This is a very nice modern carving of a smiling clown. He has a well formed ear, an altered profile, and a toothy grin. He has an accentuated jaw line, brow furrows, and a very distinctive nose. This is a nice cameo effect with a completely stippled field. It was signed on the reverse 揔P under the bison抯 head. The coin was 揳ntiqued.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a partial cameo caricature of a smiling bald man (I don抰 see any clown features). He has a large ear and mouth. The background is a nice flat recessed stippled field. This carving has a nice eye appeal.

The subject looks very worried (heavy brow furrows). He is wearing a very distinctive (copper colored) hatband and an unusual bow. He has a very large ear partially under the hat brim. His eye, nose, and mouth have been reconstructed. His hair was outlined at the back of his neck. His beard and hair were well done. The field was completely dressed. It was signed 揔P on the reverse.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a somewhat an unusual design by a modern artist who can recreate the style and appearance of old (classic) hobo nickels. This is a high-relief carving with LIBERTY removed.

Equestrian
Artist: Steve Adams
Coin: 1937-D (F)

Donation to OHNS

First Examiner: Fivaz
The artist named this carving 揌obo on a Horse. How innovative and neat a hobo on a horse! This is an outstanding carving by Steve Adams with unbelievable detail. The host coin has been shaved down to about the original thickness and the artist has left 揕IBERTY and the date (1937) in high relief. It was signed on the reverse 揝GA-2005.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a spectacular very high relief carving of a hobo riding a horse. This carving has great details. The man appears proportionately a bit too small relative to the horse unless he is a little jockey. This carving has great eye appeal.

King Arthur
Artist: Steve Adams
Coin: 1935-P (VF-XF)

First Examiner: Fivaz
This is probably the nicest, most intricate modern carving I抳e had the pleasure of examining! The detail of this is amazing, showing a heads-on view of King Arthur complete with elaborate crown, long hair, beard, and scrolls surrounding the figure 1935 and 揕IBERTY left in raised relief. It was signed on the reverse 揝GA 2005
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a spectacular high-relief carving of the crowned head of King Arthur, facing slightly left. The head is surrounded by a long ornate scroll on which is incorporated the 1935 date and LIBERTY. This is a masterpiece with great eye appeal.

President John Adams
Artist: Orazio Angelo
Coin: 1937-P (XF)

First Examiner: Fivaz
The subject appears to be President John Adams. There are heavy cuts throughout, but very attractive and well done. The profile was altered. The president has curly hair and a high collar. I like the style of this (new) modern carver. The field was well dressed. The artist抯 monogram is on the reverse.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a bust of President John Adams, boldly carved throughout. The profile was altered and the facial features were nicely done. The coin was given a shiny orange-like luster (similar to Bo抯 tobacco can toning).

President Andrew Jackson
Artist: Orazio Angelo
Coin: 1936-P (VF-XF)

First Examiner: Fivaz
The subject appears to resemble President Andrew Jackson. Heavy strokes make this a powerful carving in this authenticator抯 opinion. The profile was altered. The president is wearing a high collar. The eye, nose, and ear were well formed. I like this! The artist抯 monogram is on the reverse.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a boldly carved bust of President Andrew Jackson, with nice facial features, hair, tall collar, etc. The field was nicely dressed, with LIBERTY removed. The coin was given an orange luster.

Bearded Man Wearing Derby
Artist: Joe Paonessa
Coin: 1936-P (VG)

Donation to OHNS

First Examiner: Fivaz
The artist named this carving 揗r. Snodgrass. It is a very attractively carved modern piece. The subject has a short-brimmed hat with a checkered hatband. His hair, beard, and moustache are reminiscent of the work done by Bo or Bert (long, sweeping cuts). The profile (eye, etc.) was altered. He is wearing a winged collar on his coat. The artist抯 monogram and #55 is on the reverse.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a portrait of a man wearing a small flat-topped hat. He has a pointed nose, and a neatly carved hair-beard-moustache. He has a nice ear and eye, and is wearing a double collar. The field was nicely dressed.
