George “Bo” Hughes
Artist: Del Romines
Coin: Clad Quarter

First Examiner: Alpert
This is a rare token with a bust of 揃o on the obverse and a bison on the reverse. Struck using dies he engraved on a clad quarter (signed 揇R on tip of bust). The die work is somewhat crude, but in a charming way.

Bearded Man Wearing Derby
Artist: Unknown
Coin: T-II-D Buffalo (F-VF)

First Examiner: Alpert
This is a standard design old hobo nickel on a defective planchet (clamshell split along entire right half). The hat was probably knife-cut (thin brim, simple band with bow, crosshatched lines on dome). The hair-beard was formed by zig zag wriggle cuts. The subject has a small ear, unaltered profile, and some shading on a simple collar. Field was chisel-dressed.
Second Examiner: Farnsworth
This carving that is probably unique due to having been carved on a defective clamshell planchet.

1994 Hobo Token
Final Price: _____ $143.00 _____ ...Hammer Price plus 10% Buyer's Fee.

Limited Edition Copper Strike (similar to 1994 OHNS Token)
Artist: Ron Landis

Examiners: Alpert and Walrafen
This is special 搇imited edition strike for the 1995 Britt, Iowa National Hobo Convention and it was one of a set of four pieces. Ron struck these in copper so that they wouldn抰 be 揷onfused with 搊fficial OHNS issues which were all struck in nickel at that point in time. The obverse has a bearded man wearing a derby, dated 1994 on the shoulder. The reverse has a locomotive design that was used for the 1995 OHNS hobo token. [The official 1994 OHNS hobo token has a beardless man wearing a cap, and a buffalo reverse.] It is in full-luster AU condition.

The 1992-95 copper Britt Iowa tokens were struck before the 1992(type2)/93/94/95 OHNS tokens
for which Ron Landis redated the 1995 “Ballcap” die to 1994 and created a new 1995 “Indian” die.
As a result the 1994 “Trimmed Beard” die never was included in the official OHNS token series.
The 1992(type2)/93/94 OHNS tokens had the buffalo reverse die and were struck on prepared nickel planchets.
The 1995 “Indian” OHNS tokens had the “ALL ABOARD” reverse die and were struck on a variety of planchets.

Final Price: _____ $165.00 _____ ...Hammer Price plus 10% Buyer's Fee.

Bearded Man Wearing Derby
Artist: “Rough Beard”
Coin: 1913-P T-2 (VG-F)

First Examiner: Alpert
This classic hobo nickel has been carved and punched. It is a nice attractive example of a 揜ough Beard hobo nickel. All the hair is densely punched, creating a curly texture. The subject has a nice large ear and a slightly altered nose. This carving has the typical hat and collars of a 揜ough Beard carving. The field was nicely dressed. This carving has eye-appeal, both close up and at a distance.
Second Examiner: Fivaz
This is a typical hobo nickel subject. Subject has a large ear, an altered profile, curly hair- beard- moustache. The carving has beveled cuts for the collar and a nicely dressed field behind the head.
