Final Price: _____ $82.50 _____ ...Hammer Price plus 10% Buyer's Fee.

Counterfeit Hobo Nickel
Artist: Unknown
Coin: Fake 1913-P T-1

First Examiner: Fivaz
The obverse is misaligned with the reverse. This is one of the 損ut together counterfeit pieces with the 搑otated reverse. The obverse and the reverse were die struck and then put together. A similar piece is illustrated on page 39 in the OHNS Hobo Nickel Guidebook.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a fake hobo nickel. The obverse and reverse are deceptive, but the edge is an obvious giveaway that the piece is counterfeit; however, such pieces are still popular with collectors. This is from the Norm Talbert collection.

First Examiner: Fivaz
This carving has punched hair, beard, and moustache. The profile was unaltered. Part of the Indian抯 feather is still seen behind his neck. The hat is plain with a curved brim in the center and has no hatband. It was probably done by someone starting to carve these nickels.
Second Examiner: Alpert
This is a punched and carved old (classic) hobo nickel. This artist had little talent. Hat was coarsely carved, hair was punched, no ear was carved, profile was unaltered, the field was poorly dressed, and the braid was covered by hair punches. This carving is from the Norm Talbert collection.
