Observations: Coin is very dark but carving is quite visible. Curl-brimmed,
wrap-around hat, with hatband partially obscured by the high brim. Very small
ear. Eye and profile slightly altered, as is (down-turned) mouth. Beard/hair,
moustache and eyebrow are all punched. Nice representation of a typical hobo
nickel.

Observations: Coin is evenly toned very dark on both sides. Decent
hat with wrap-around brim. Ear is small and high up on head. Slightly altered
profile. Unusual punched hair and beard, but somewhat crudely done. Adam’s
apple on neck. Field dressed behind the head. Simple groove collar.

Observations: Nice hat with raised brim (wraps around in back),
hatband, and shading lines on dome. Nice carved hair, neat beard, light
mustache and eyebrow. Narrow collar; shaded coat. Profile unaltered. Nicely
dressed field. Hair-beard and other areas may have been darkened by the artist.
Carving has great eye appeal!

Observations: Very attractive carving. Domed hat with accent lines
on crown; vertical lines on hat band, wrap-around brim. Hair, beard, mustache
and eyebrow neatly done with moustache lighter than rest. Slightly altered
profile, eye and mouth. Ear well formed. Collar (w/jewel) and coat well done.

Observations: Very unusual workmanship with bold simple features.
Hat has nice thin raised brim; no band. No hair or beard. Nice ear with
internal detail. Strongly altered profile with big nose, small mouth, and
rounded chin. Simple collar; plain coat. Decently but a bit unevenly dressed
field. Nice eye Appeal.

Observations: Very plain carving, with raised straight brim on
plain hat. Ear partially under hat brim. Profile drastically altered, with eye,
nose and mouth unusually done. Plain collar/coat. No hair, beard or moustache.
Field dressed, LIBERTY remains.
